Project brief
You’re a freelance illustrator at NewMedia Design Agency, tasked with creating a double-page colour advert for a new automotive client.
The ad should feature a highly rendered vector illustration of their vehicle, supported by contextual imagery. Since it will also appear on billboards, you’ll work in Adobe Illustrator, experimenting with techniques to achieve a realistic and visually striking result that includes at least one manipulated image.
My response
In response to the brief, I designed a detailed vector illustration of a Porsche 718 Boxster in Adobe Illustrator, made entirely from original shapes and lines.
To achieve a realistic finish, I used a range of techniques including shadows, highlights, transparency, gradients, feathering, and layering. These methods helped me replicate the car’s reflections, curves, and depth, creating a professional, high-quality render suitable for both print and billboard campaigns.
