Project brief
Design a custom wrapping paper for an occasion or holiday of your choice. The design should reflect the theme and mood of the event while appealing to the target audience.
All elements must be original and hand-created using drawing, painting, or any suitable medium. The final piece should feature a repeatable pattern and be visually engaging, thematic, and print-ready.
My response
For this project, I chose Mother’s Day as the occasion for my wrapping paper design. I created the graphic elements by hand using coloured pencils, drawing items that represent how a mother enjoys her time, a handbag, a high heel, and a glass of bubbles.
I then brought the drawings into Adobe Photoshop, where I enhanced the colours, refined the details, and arranged them into a beautiful, cohesive pattern. The final design feels elegant, feminine, and perfectly captures the celebratory spirit of Mother’s Day.
