The taming of the shrew
Project brief
There are multiple productions occurring next year at the Sydney Theatre Company. You have been commissioned by the producer of an upcoming stage play to create a poster for advertising purposes.
This poster will communicate the concept of the stage play. It must include a main Illustration, created by hand using one or more medias accompanied by the relevant information provided.
My response
In response to the brief, I chose William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and created a hand-drawn charcoal illustration of a male and female hand pointing at each other.
The image conveys a stern, tense atmosphere, representing the constant conflict between the lead characters, which is the central theme of the play.
The illustration forms the focal point of the poster, effectively communicating the play’s tension and drama.
